# RichSMTP > RichSMTP is an SMTP relay and email delivery service. Applications, websites and devices hand their outgoing email to RichSMTP over authenticated SMTP, and RichSMTP signs it, queues it, retries temporary failures, protects the sender’s reputation and reports what happened to every message. Key facts: - RichSMTP is an SMTP relay service for transactional email (receipts, one-time passwords, password resets, alerts) and permission-based marketing email (newsletters, announcements). - Capabilities: smtp relay; domain authentication; shared pools or dedicated ips; bounce and complaint handling; open and click tracking; events and webhooks. - SMTP ports: 587 (STARTTLS), 465 (Implicit TLS), 2525 (Alternate). Authentication is by username and password over TLS. - Senders publish SPF, DKIM, DMARC records on their own domain; MX records and incoming email are not affected. - It works with anything that can send through an external SMTP server. - RichSMTP is operated by RNS STAR LLC, 99 Wall Street #112, New York, NY 10005, United States. Contact: support@richsmtp.com; abuse reports: abuse@richsmtp.com. - It is permission-based: cold email, purchased or scraped lists and other unsolicited mail are prohibited, and accounts used for them are closed without refund. ## Page sections - [Platform](https://richsmtp.com/#platform): What the service includes: SMTP relay, domain authentication, shared pools and dedicated IPs, bounce handling, tracking, events and webhooks. - [How mail flows](https://richsmtp.com/#journey): What happens to a message between your application and the recipient’s inbox. - [Deliverability](https://richsmtp.com/#deliverability): How RichSMTP approaches inbox placement, and what SPF, DKIM and DMARC each do. - [Developers](https://richsmtp.com/#developers): SMTP connection settings, ports and code samples for Node.js, Python and PHP. - [Setup](https://richsmtp.com/#setup): The four setup steps, from adding a domain to sending. - [FAQ](https://richsmtp.com/#faq): Direct answers to common questions about SMTP relay and RichSMTP. ## Full text - [llms-full.txt](https://richsmtp.com/llms-full.txt): the complete content of richsmtp.com as Markdown, including the glossary and every FAQ answer. ## Legal - [Legal overview](https://richsmtp.com/legal): who operates RichSMTP, contact addresses and every policy. - [Terms and Conditions](https://richsmtp.com/terms-and-conditions): The agreement between you and RNS STAR LLC for the use of RichSMTP: accounts, sending rules, billing, liability and termination. - [Privacy Policy](https://richsmtp.com/privacy-policy): What RichSMTP collects, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept and the rights you have.
